Preston Lake
Preston Lake was Harrisonburg's first large-scale mixed-use community, to feature single family homes, rowhouses, flats and retail space to include restaurants, a gym, hotel and other shopping boutiques. Most homes at Preston Lake were built to EarthCraft standards and feature high quality exterior finishes such as brick, stone, stucco and HardiPlank siding.
Developed by The Hine Group, and originally financed by Wachovia, the timing of development and construction at Preston Lake coincided by the real estate boom and bust of 2000-2010 experienced in varying degrees in different areas of the country. After Preston Lake home sales slowed significantly in 2010, the subdivision was foreclosed on in early 2011 and the undeveloped (majority) portions of the community were transferred to Wells Fargo and the Homeowners Association.
Streets in Preston Lake include: Preston Shore Boulevard, Charleston Boulevard, Battery Park Place and Crepe Myrtle Drive.
